The Superkart incorporates for the first time an event of the operator Kronos-Events (Belcar Endurance & TCR Benelux) at this 2018 meeting of the popular FunCup. The Superkart remains faithful to the circuit of Dijon being included in the Trophy of Burgundy, on April 27 and 28. The discipline borrows one of the fastest circuits for these machines of 100 horses at the impressive average speed for the second round of the French Open Championship of Superkart.

ouverture DijonPre2018

This is an international competition, according with FIA-CIK criteria, which should prove exciting. The British (with one exception) and the Swiss are unfortunately absent, the field is therefore less this season circumstantially (24 committed expected) for a circuit at the confluence of Europe potential competitors but the level of postulants for podiums is particularly homogeneous.

The top frontrunners.
The four-time French champion and two-time European champion Peter Elkmann from Germany (Anderson / VM) has a full program combining several disciplines but his thirst for conquest in Superkart remains intact. He is on a positive dynamic and achieves amazing lap time. He still launched his season perfectly with a double victory at Le Castellet at the end of March. The most likely replica should come from his compatriot Andreas Jost (Anderson / VM). Dijon is indeed his favourite track, the one where he performs so often (wins in 2014, podium in 2016). He triumphed twice time last year. The other driver expected is the Belgian Yannick de Brabander (MSkart / VM), revelation 2016 during his discovery of the Superkart. Reassured by his performance at Paul Ricard (2nd), he has more opportunity here to join the fight for victory.
Two French top drivers are expected at the forefront: Alexandre Sebastia (Anderson / DEA), the champion of France 2013, the last title before the current reign of Elkmann. He made a podium at the opening of the season with an attacking pace. The other “tricolour”, Julien Goullancourt (Anderson / DEA) regains its form gradually (double vice-champion 2015 & 16). Without a preparation run, however, he managed to "play" in front group in the first event and would also have had to earn podium. Among the outsiders, Leo Kurstjens regularly confirms to be one of the leaders of the Dutch Team (MSkart / VM) present in force, as his teammate Finn Vésa Léthinen, recent defector.

Other participants to watch.
Among those who apply for top places, note the come-back of Cyril Vayssie (MSkart / VM) and the advent of Johan Lamalle driver of ASK Chalon / Saone, competitors often authors of excellent starts. It will follow the evolution of two "Rookies" preceded by a well-deserved reputation; both are in particular French Karting Champions in the KZ-LC (Long Circuit) category. Honour to whom honour is due, the best known Grégory Guilvert wanted to discover the discipline. He will trade his Audi of the French GT4 Championship for a Superkart. He continues to run in traditional Karting and knows the track, also his learning should be short-lived. The other newcomer is a Franc-Comtois driver Nelson Bondier also involved, who will join on Sunday his league championship (BFC) in KZ2. The participation of 4-stroke engines is being valued. The MSkart-KTM will this time be driven by Franck Savouret, coincidence of entries, also former French Champion KZ-LC.

Spectacular time lap.
In 2016, Peter Elkmann set a best lap time of 1'14''815 in the race, shattering his own previous mark (1'16''029 '' ') in qualifying, which is the record in Superkart. Last year, the best performance was achieved by A. Jost in qualifying (1'15''094 '' ').
